Mission

Hub, thanks to its constant scientific and technological research into the energy and industrial sector, with particular reference to renewable and sustainable energies linked to the “green economy” concept, is determined to become an innovative partner and an indispensable tool for every innovation, also emphasizing those aspects meant to increase its business potential for the national or international market.

Hub transforms its study and research activities within the field of applied and related technologies into its ultimate goal in order to bring innovation into every aspect of the corporate life; assistance and consultancy activities; naval and industrial marketing activities; the execution of feasibility studies, research and consultancy activities, preliminary, definitive, executive design and, thanks to the high specialization of its collaborators, Hub can take care of all the construction aspects, including the supply of services such as the management of the works and the contract execution management, the operational management, the technical-economic adequacy assessments or environmental impact studies on behalf of third parties too.

FIELD OF APPLICATION

HUB considers of primary interest the following areas of innovations: scientific innovations and renewable, sustainable energy in the Naval and Industrial sectors; generally, all the innovations that, potentially, have characteristics suitable to be converted into a "product" that can be marketed in an appropriate time frame are considered of significant importance. Thanks to HUB’s team great experience in many different market areas, a preventive analysis of the real potential of innovations subject to research and study is possible.

Thanks to close connections with companies of primary importance in many influential areas, HUB is set to place each innovation within a network of highest level where innovations are essential elements for the “core business” of the companies they are introduced to.

For any given innovation, the search for the best national and international market is already identified in the first analysis phase. For any innovation, in order to achieve its success, it’s crucial to bear those social and technical elements that make it immediately ready for the market.

Today, innovating seems to be one of the primary goals for all companies; the latter, however, may encounter two obstacles during the innovation process: economic investments and shortage of qualified personnel.
So far, it’s evident that HUB is able to fill these two shortcomings, as the selected innovations have already received a good share of the economic resources needed to reach the stage of relevant maturity and, moreover, concerning its staff’s flaws, HUB, through its structure, can provide all the necessary "know how".

Recent research sponsored by the European Union points out how "set to innovate" companies account for as much as 75% of the wealth produced by all businesses and 72% of total employment at European level. In other words, those companies that innovate their activities have a much greater economic weight compared to the ones that have not undertaken any innovation at all. The future of the European economy is largely entrusted to the innovation capacity of companies. “Set to innovate” companies believe that, thanks to the processes undertaken, the quality (40%) and diversification (29%) of their products and /or their services has significantly improved. The research also underlines, as a fundamental aspect, that the innovation concept can’t be limited to technological dimension only, but has to be conceptually extended to organizational, managerial, marketing and market communication issues too.

The latter are key areas where the companies can implement innovation processes: thus, businesses will achieve very important results. Today, the planning and marketing strategies behind the launch of a product into the market are crucial and, in any case, represent an integral part of the process involved in creating the value of a product and / or service. However, if businesses want to get the best possible results from technological innovation processes, they will necessarily have to realize, contextually to these processes, organizational and managerial innovations too.

A VIRTUOUS MODEL

The U.S. research and development system, dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century, underwent profound structural changes during the century. They were characterized by two precise elements: the first one was the rapid use by the companies of the invention of the art of inventing which spread in Germany, whereas the second aspect, which is also connected to the evolution of the US research and development system during the same century, was represented by variable roles exercised by industry, government and universities as funders and creators of the research and development system. In the USA the extent of the changes in importance between these three sectors is clearly surpassing the one associated with any other industrial economy.
